Mere Christianity – C. S. Lewis

Lewis aims to present what he considers the core, or “mere,” Christianity that all Christian denominations share.
Lewis’s prose is remarkably clear and accessible, making complex theological ideas understandable to the layperson. His use of analogies (like the “hallway” of Christianity leading to different denominational “rooms”) is particularly effective.
Lewis excels in apologetics, providing rational arguments for Christian faith which are both compelling and thought-provoking. His methodical approach in building arguments from basic human experiences to complex theological concepts is logical and engaging.
“Mere Christianity” serves as an excellent introduction to Christian thought for both believers and skeptics alike.
